Hazel O'Connor - Rewind South 2019

Hazel O'Connor in conversation with Mark Taylor at the Rewind South festival, as she prepares to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her break-out performance in ‘Breaking Glass’, before Mark, just politely, says ‘goodnight’.

The award-winning singer, writer and actress has announced a seventeen-date ‘Hallelujah Moments’ UK tour for October, November, and December 2019, alongside Clare Hirst on Sax and Sarah Fisher on Keys. This includes four special London shows at Pizza Express Live (11-14/12)

O'Connor said, "I'm looking forward to playing all the favourites plus songs from my new album ‘Hallelujah Moments’. We played a selection of those songs on the spring tour of this year and some have already become firm favourites with the audiences. I look forward to this opportunity to introduce these new songs to even more people on the tour this autumn."

Following her 2019 tour, 2020 is already shaping up to be a busy year, particularly as it marks the 40th anniversary of O’Connor’s breakthrough performance in the film ‘Broken Glass’ and the accompanying major success of the album, including the mesmerising single ‘Will You’.

She’s also joining forces on a series of double-headline dates with Toyah, whom she had narrowly beat to the lead-role of Kate in that film. Ironically, the male lead in ‘Breaking Glass’ is Phil Daniels, with whom Toyah had worked the year before (1979) on ‘Quadrophenia’, alongside Mark Wingett, who played the lead guitarist in Kate’s band, many years before he ended-up top of The Bill.
