Sepp Osley, a founder member of psychedelic pop proggers Blurred Vision, speaks to Decibel Report’s Andy Rawll about the forthcoming ‘Dear John’ charity event (on 9th October 2019) and reflects back on the events that led to the band’s first recording ten years ago. This set off a chain of events that led them to world-wide recognition and notoriety including the patronage of Roger Waters.

Following the release of their debut album in 2015 and relocation to London from this adopted homeland of Canada, the band have evolved their sound and built on their reputation as a live band, from supporting classic rock titans Uriah Heep to this year’s appearance at the Download festival.

2020 is already shaping-up to be even more significant, with not only the release of their long-awaiting second album ‘Redemption’, but also their recently confirmed appearance on the prestigious Prog Stage at Ramblin' Man Fair in July.

In the run-up to the end of this year, Blurred Vision are performing at two significant charity events in London:

‘Dear John’ 79th Birthday Celebration:
- Saturday 9th October 2019. at Hyde Park Hotel, Marble Arch
- Named after the Lennon tribute song that featured on their acclaimed 2015 debut album ‘Organised Insanity’
- A 2019 remix version is available on 9th October on all streaming platforms.
- A brand new video has been released that sees Prog legends Peter Gabriel and Geddy Lee (Rush) join forces with Donovan, PP Arnold, Steve Hogarth (Marillion), Lawrence Gowan (Styx), Paul Young, Marc Almond, Fish, Maxi Jazz (Faithless), John Otway and the West End cast of ‘Thriller’ to pay tribute. The video also features fans from across the world, all inspired by John Lennon’s message of peace.

Sepp talks about how his Iranian heritage and his affinity with the cause of War Child, given that his family were forced to flee their home country for a new life in Canada when he was a child. He aims to channel the goodwill of people towards the beloved songs of John Lennon in organising this special #DearJohn fundraising event at the recently opened Hard Rock Hotel near Marble Arch in Central London.
